Mise-en-scene: Stranger Things analysis

 1) Choose THREE aspects of mise-en-scene (e.g. costume, lighting and setting) and write a short paragraph for each about the denotation and connotation and what is communicated to the audience.


For example: 

Costume: The character at the start is wearing a white lab coat. This suggests to the audience that he could be a doctor or a scientist 

Lighting: dim
dark
gloomy
flashing

Setting: an elevator
running down the corrida   

Props: lab coat


Actor placement/movement/expression: scared
sweaty
shaking

 1. I can see a child who looks dehydrated . The deeper meaning is that stop digging graves dig toilets. The advert communicates that its a fun raiser. the audience may feel guilt because kids are suffering.  Denotation and connotation denotation: as you can see its showing its a fund raiser for afghan Sikhs and is trying to help them out. You denotation that there's multiple people hugging, they look upset and seem like they haven't see each other for a long time. connotations: you can see from the image it looks like they are hugging [ renunciation] .
